Oboz Hike Challenge Series: An Overview

4 hike challenges that allow for annual ongoing engagement with built-in rest periods

  • Trail Ambassador Award
    • Trail Ambassador Award provided to each participant that completes all 3 challenges in 2025, and all 4 challenges in 2026.  

Maximum of 1 recorded hike per day

  • Must meet minimum distance. 
  • Cumulative distance will be shown on the dashboard.
  • Keeps people from ‘rigging’ the challenge and recording multiple completions in a single hike or day. 
  • Bonus Hikes would be available for people that miss days. 

Utilizes a custom built Oboz Hike Challenge Series app

  • Oboz Hike Challenge Series proprietary app
  • Unlock and store completions/badges
    • Earn badges along the way and for completing milestones and the complete challenge.
    • Potential badge names: Shedhorn, Sypes, Cottonwood, Sawtooth, Bridger, Katabatic, Bozeman, Whakata
  • Progress/results can also be viewed on obozhikechallenge.com

Registration Details

1. Create an account with Terrain Scouts.

2. Register for the Oboz Hike Challenge Series.

3. Link an activity tracking account to the challenge (don’t worry, there are several free tracking options! You’ll be able to create one if you don’t already have one). 

4. If you are using an activity tracking app on your phone, be sure it is downloaded and that you are logged on. Better yet, go test it out and make sure you know how to start, end, and save your activities before the challenge starts.
